Rules
How Unridden works.
Unridden evaluates each ride you do against the set of trails — as Unridden defines them — that are available in the system. Think of it as a game: it might even nudge you to ride some trails in a slightly different way than you used to.
How a trail counts
To get credit for a trail, you must ride the entire length of the trail in a single ride. We do not accumulate partial trail rides and combine them — you must ride the full trail, as defined in Unridden.
- The system allows for GPS variance and imperfect matches. Roughly speaking, your ride needs to overlap the trail by about 90%.
- Bi-directional / two-way trails can be ridden in either direction — you only need to ride one direction for it to count.
- The type of bike you ride does not matter. For example, we do not differentiate acoustic vs. e-bike.
Closed trails
Please don't ride closed trails. Unridden does its best to know when trails are closed and will not give credit for riding a trail during a closure.
Aside from standard seasonal closures, trail status can be hard to stay on top of. If you find the status (closed vs. open) of a trail is incorrect, please let us know.
Achievements, badges & prizes
Achievements, badges, and prizes are primarily evaluated on an annual basis, but we also keep all your results from year to year to show a lifetime tally.
For example, you could earn a badge for completing an area each year you complete it — and your lifetime stats would show how many years you've completed that area.
Specific terms and conditions for prizes are covered where those prizes are available.
